This is what we use when eating rice in Japan
Some people say that this is too small - to me, there is no too small or too big as this is the standard size for rice bowls in Japan. This is North America and people may not cook rice so often at home, so it is good for some other things but I agree with some reviewers it is too small for cereal. Maybe good size for ice cream or something. In my home, the bowls are used for rice and dog food. Mine is pink one (I normally hate pink but this one is an exception!), of course for rice, hubby uses green one, my chihuahua blue one. I appreciate Anthro carries these for years. I first bought these in 2009 I believe, broke some of them and purchased some more this year. I hope Anthro will have more traditional patterns. The bowls are durable and packaging is great, always arrives in a perfect condition when purchased online.

    So happy
I'm so happy I bought these! They're the perfect size for serving rice and the kelly green pattern is even prettier in person :)

Just when I thought I was over my "buy almost every bowl and/or plate that strikes my fancy at Anthro" phase, I noticed these little bowls. I have passed by them DOZENS of times, but just the other week, I really noticed how beautiful they are. I bought a few of these, and the larger Atom Art serving bowl. They look lovely together! I have to say, I didn't realize how useful this small size bowl would be. I've used them so much already - to put chopped ingredients in while cooking, for small portions of cereal or dessert, for leftover storage, etc... I'm sure Anthro will keep coming out with variations in the coming years, and I am excited to add to my collection.

    Order these napkins!
I bought two sets of these fabulous napkins. They are wonderfully large, thick, and wash very well. From the online photos they seem thin and it looks like there is a lot of white in the patterns, not so. These are very bright and saturated colors with only a little bit of white in the background of each print. They also seem delicate, but are much more durable than they look in the photos, almost like a thin dish cloth thickness. I only use cloth napkins and I use these for everyday and have already used them while entertaining, they are the best I have purchased in years. I will buy more when they go on sale (if they don't sell out first) These are worth every penny, 32 bucks is a steal!

    No iron!
My family has moved to using cloth napkins in place of paper to reduce our waste. I've been ironing the cloth napkins. Yes, someone please hand me the vodka, I've been ironing the cloth napkins. Not so with these! I try to grab them out of the dryer as soon as they're done and lay them out flat on a table, and voila! Perfect. They're softer than the other ones I bought, bright and cheerful and also hide stains fairly well, which is nice when the vodka runs out and I resort to red wine. Anyway, I love, love, love these napkins. Absolutely fab.

    Adore These Plates
I spotted these plates in Soho, NYC Anthroplogie and loved them, but I did not purchase them and wass sorry afterwards. I called the store the following day and asked them to hold two for me...the chameleion and the bug plates. I admired the two oddest looking ones because of the contrast between the old fashioned shape of the plates and the weird graphics.. One is on display in a built in wall cubby shelf and one is sitting atop an antique dresser. I do not use them for food and I would never think of washing then any other way than by hand. Too adorable to risk breakage or scratching.

    Fun and lovely
I put this plate and three others (Honey Bee, Black Swan, Pufferfish) from the "Natural World" set on an online registry for my upcoming nuptials. However, I neurotically started to worry that this one and the honey bee would disappear before anyone purchased them--they have been out longer than the swan & pufferfish and the wedding is still a couple months off. So I ended up just ordering those two myself and I'm so glad I did! I love the mix of vintage charm and "non-traditional" creature . The colors are vibrant and they have great attention to detail. I haven't used them yet, I'm kind of afraid to mess them up, but they actually seem pretty solid so I'm sure they will be fine. They would be great for purely decorative use, but I'm looking forward to serving dessert to guests on them!

    Alternative for kids
I bought these to try to get my 5 and 3 year olds to eat their dinners; they love lizards and the like so I bought the chameleon design for both. I was prepared for disappointment with the quality based on other reviews but these are near perfect. There is a slight misalignment at the border with the white flowers but you'd have to look closely. They are quite heavy plates which is great as they looked a little delicate on-line. I will be ordering more as they are inexpensive and would make great gifts. My girls love them.

    Amazing Pictures and Quality!
This plate (as well as all of the others) are simply amazing. I have been using this plate for months and the condition is just as fantastic as the day my husband bought it for me. Just be sure to hand wash it. The colors are incredibly vivid and the picture contains so much whimsy! This plate looks exactly the same in person as what you see on your monitor (assuming the contrast/brightness ratio isn't way off kilter).

    vivid hummingbird plate
...bought the hummingbird plate for my grandma as she loves birds and it is even prettier in person. The yellow is bright and cheerful and the design is unique and fun. It almost seems too pretty to use, like it should be displayed, but she will enjoy it either way. I was definitely impressed when I opened the box. I would imagine the other styles would be just as nice. I thought the chameleon was really cool and loved the colors, but wasn't sure about eating and looking at that animal.

    Love these plates!
I ordered these plates as a wedding gift thinking they would just be something fun and different. They are beautiful! The colors are vivid and so pretty. They are larger than I expected. I liked the set of four so much I ordered a set for myself after seeing them.

    Love The Midtown West Skyline
I bought the "brown" mugs that are the perfect image of NY midtown west with the water towers. Was tempted to also buy the ones with the image of London's Regent Street. This artist really knows how to capture a city's spirit and iconic architectural details - hope Anthropologie has more from her!

    Beautiful Cups in Three Sizes
Contrary to what a prior reviewer wrote, these ceramic cups come in 3 different sizes. The small is espresso size, the medium is equivalent to a regular deli coffee cup, and a large is like a Starbucks grande. The large even takes a lid from a grande cup if you want to use it as a travel mug. There are 8 designs in total. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. I love seeing all 8 in my china cupboard and use them for all kinds of drinks, hot and cold. For hot drinks, only fill 2/3rds full and use the top section as the handle.

    Awesome!
These handcrafted cups are artsy and useful! Seldom do I find a handcrafted piece for the kitchen that is also really practical. Typically if it's pretty, it's also fragile, or can't be used the way you want to use it. These cups are beautiful AND they keep coffee and tea warmer than regular mugs! I loved the first couple I purchased so much I went back and bought all the others! One note: one of them arrived broken twice (same style/color) and two more cracked after 5-6 uses but were immediately replaced by anthro.

    Super cut, love these glasses
They are great for juice or milk but they are great for cocktails as well!

    super sturdy glasses
our family has 18 of these glasses (and i am ordering another set today.) we store them upside down on one of those metal bottle drying racks - so that alone should break/crack them. we also use these everyday. all the kids in the neigborhood use them. i find them in the yard. we have not broken or knicked a single one! these have been VERY successful! i recommend this sturdy glass. i am buying ahead to have extras in case we ever do break them....accidents will happen!

    Great Everyday Glasses!
I had been eyeing these in the store for a while until I finally decided to buy them as a post-wedding gift for ourselves. We bought 8 of them and have had them for about a year now. They are really sturdy, not a single chip in any of them. They are still in brand new condition. We put them in the dishwasher on a regular basis and have found no issues here either. They are a nice size for milk or juice and I've enjoyed that they have a little character to them too.

adorable mugs, good size, thinner rim so can chip
I ordered a couple of these mugs and each looked just as nice in person as in the photos. The colors/transfers of the designs were clear and not smudged. The San Francisco mug would be fun to have/give along with the "X" Calligrapher Canape Plate since they feature the same dogs adventuring around. The Paris one arrived chipped. The rim is thinner than other Anthro mugs so it's fragile. I've washed the London & NYC ones and they look great. I just am careful with them in the dishwasher so they don't clink against other dishes. Each of these has such good details that mix the things people see as tourists and some for locals. I love the New York one with the Italian ice cart. I lived there for a couple years & my husband is a native New Yorker and we always got Italian ices in summer. The artist could have painted a hot dog cart or pretzel cart but went with a treat not always depicted for NYC. I really like the originality.

    darling mug
I love this darling mug -- i get compliments on it all the time! Too cute! It makes my mornings a little brighter :)

    Favorite mug
I like this mug for it's simplicity and originality. The little hand-drawn sketches of each city and detailing on the inside rim give it that extra personality. I also really like the size & shape and the fact that it doesn't have as thick of a rim as some of the other mugs Anthro carries. Some people might say that this mug is prone to chip or crack more easily, but so far I haven't had any problems. It washes well and feels sturdy without being TOO sturdy (if that makes any sense. I don't feel like I am carrying around a man's mug in terms of thickness or heaviness). It's the perfect balance. I find myself drawn to it each morning, even though I have a variety of Anthro mugs to choose from.
