All Anthropologie merchandise is unconditionally guaranteed. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please let us know so we can take care of you.

Refund process

A refund will be credited back to your original method of payment, and will post approximately two days after the date of processing. It may take up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your monthly credit card statement. Most returns will process in approximately two to three weeks, depending on your method of return. Gift card purchases will be refunded in the form of another card and mailed to your billing address.

Refunds for merchandise purchased over a year ago that are not accompanied by a packing list will be refunded at their current selling price.

Price Adjustments

If you have purchased items that are now on sale, we will gladly offer you a one-time price adjustment if the original date of shipment was within 14 days of the sale offering.

Catalog & Web Merchandise

To return your catalog or web merchandise, please use one of the following methods:

SmartLabel Personal Shipping Method In-Store
A prepaid, preaddressed SmartLabel is included on the front of your packing list. Affix the SmartLabel to your package, careful to remove or cover the original shipping label. No postage is required; however, a $5.95 shipping charge will be deducted from your refund or credit. Upon mailing, your return will be processed in approximately 10 business days. Available within the continental US only. Oversized items cannot be returned using a pre-paid SmartLabel but can be returned in-store or by personal shipping method. Anthropologie is not responsible for shipping fees or lost returns.
Our stores will accept and process all merchandise returns that are accompanied by an original packing list. Government-issued ID is required for returns without an original packing list. We reserve the right to refuse or limit returns without an original packing list. See the Store Locator for the store(s) nearest you. Items purchased using PayPal that are returned in-store cannot be refunded but can be returned for store credit.

BHLDN returns cannot be processed at all Anthropologie stores. BHLDN merchandise must be returned to a BHLDN store or to a BHLDN shop-in-shop, located in select Anthropologie stores. We kindly ask that all merchandise remain unwashed, unworn and unaltered, with all original tags intact.

USPS Complimentary Return Pick-Ups

The United States Postal Service will provide complimentary pick-up of merchandise returns when you use the pre-paid, pre-addressed SmartLabel from the front of your packing list. Simply affix the SmartLabel to the package and follow the directions below.


Merchandise exchanges can be made using any of the three methods listed above. Before sending your exchange, please fill out the back of your packing list to indicate the type of exchange you'd like to make and enclose it in your package. Please review the information below to determine which exchange method will work best for you.

To exchange for the same item in a different size or color:
If you are making an exchange for the same item in a different size or color, you will not be charged for the reshipment of the item to you and you will not be charged the $5.95 SmartLabel fee.

To exchange for a different item:
If you are making an exchange for a different item, you will be charged a new shipping fee to your original method of payment. Please note, a fee of $5.95 will also be charged to your original method of payment if you make your exchange using the SmartLabel.

To exchange at an Anthropologie store:
When making an exchange at one of our stores, please bring your original packing list and the items in their original packaging to expedite the process.

Store Merchandise

We cannot process store-bought returns at our warehouse. Please return your items to the store where you made the purchase or to the store closest to your home. For the sake of convenience, you may ship your return via certified mail to your store of choice; please be sure to include your original receipt. Mailing addresses can be found in the Store Locator.


Furniture can be returned within 30 days from the date of delivery for a full refund. After 30 days, Anthropologie will replace any manufacturer defect for up to one year.

Please note: any order made prior February 1, 2010 that is returned to cannot be exchanged. These returns will be refunded in the form of a check, which will arrive approximately two weeks after the return is processed.
