Rated 5 out of 5 by Petite Jacket with Unique Anthro Spin! I own one oversized denim jacket that has been hanging unworn in my closet for decades. I’ve never been a fan. But I found myself longing for a fitted denim jacket that would dress down my Archival Collection Tropics Dress. I’ve been hesitating over this jacket for months because cropped looks ridiculous on me. SIZE: I ordered my normal size Small Regular for most Anthro Jackets. I’m 5’5” tall, 130 lbs, 34D, 35-28-36, with long torso, narrow shoulders, short arms, and small hips. I’m basically a tall Petite. But Regular sizes are often too short at the waist, too low cut, and the sleeves are way too long. Tops, dresses, and jackets are a challenge. FIT: WOW! I love how this jacket fits. The Small Regular fits my Petite arms and shoulders. Many thanks to the petite reviewers who helped guide my selection. I’m wearing a sleeveless wool dress under the jacket. The Small is snug. But I refuse to size up and compromise the rest of the fit. The sleeves are a bit snug on the upper arms, but only when I flex. The sleeve length is absolutely perfect. No folding necessary. Heavy denim is uncomfortable when folded at the wrist, especially if you have wrist pain. I have heavy coats to wear on cold days, so I won’t be layering under this jacket in CA. The shorter back falls at my waist and nips in when the jacket is buttoned or not. The longer front comes around in a semi circle when buttoned. The cut is flattering from every angle. Most heavy coats (including the gorgeous 5 star Karelia) flare out when unbuttoned. The fact that the shoulders fit correctly was the deciding factor. Most coats and jackets are too big through the shoulders, which isn’t flattering on me. DETAILS: Anthro put their unique spin all over this one. I’m not much into distressed denim, but this is done in a subtle enough way to look like a well worn and loved jacket. Even the cuffs appear to have been washed many times while rolled-up. I hoped the jacket I received wouldn’t have the obvious whiskering on the breast pocket flap. Lucky for me it doesn’t. A good wash inside out with fabric softener should soften the denim. I can stand the collar up for a different look. I love how the gold stitching zig-zags down one lapel. And what's not to love about the leather tabs that are both unique looking and functional. This jacket merits a Full Five Star Recommendation for Petites. I suggest going with your normal Anthro size if you don't plan to layer. If you are at the top of your normal size, just be aware that the fit will be close. If you are taller than 5'5", have long arms, or wide shoulders this jacket may not be for you. If you are larger than a D cup you may need to size up. Both Petite and Regular are cut for Petite proportions. I waited months for this to go on sale. It wasn’t happening fast enough. I bit during the Black Friday 20% off promo. Thanks to Anthro, I now have the perfect denim jacket to fit my Frankenstein proportions. December 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's a nice looking jacket but very short The other reviewers who said the jacket was very short weren't kidding. I think if you are a petite this is probably a great fit but if you are tall or long waisted this jacket will hit right at the middle of your back. Also, in one place the distressing looks like it will become a hole pretty quickly, and it's on the shoulder , which I think is a bad spot to get a hole since the whole jacket hangs from the shoulders. OTOH it has great pockets, the color rinse is very nice and aside from the shoulder distressing it's very well made. I like the way it looks on me with a sweater hoodie under it, and it would look good with skirts. If only it was an inch or two longer it would be perfect. January 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolute perfection! This jacket has the exact same cut as the Pilcro Denim Jacket in acid wash, so most of my review is the exact same: The cut on this jacket is absolutely perfect and so flattering. The denim is soft with a bit of stretch and the jacket has a fitted cut so you look slender instead of bulky in it. The greatest thing about the cut is the tapered bottom. It is cut slightly shorter in the back and then angles longer in the front so you get the benefits of that nipped-in waist look without having a cropped jacket. Genius! Arms are fitted enough to make petite ladies happy, yet will have enough room for those with larger arms. On me, the sleeves come down a little below my wrist. It looks great left open or buttoned up. 5'2", 105 pounds, 32A-26-33, bought XS regular. The difference between this jacket and the other is that the tabs on here are leather instead of linen, and it has a more regular, distressed wash vs. the acid wash of the other jacket, making it much more timeless. Now I can finally, after close to a decade of hunting, say that I found the perfect denim jacket! June 20, 2013

    Size Guide

    How to Measure

Measure under your arms at the fuller part of your bust. Keep tape level across your shoulder blades.

    Natural Waist

Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape comfortably loose.

    Drop Waist

Measure around your body 1 1/2" below your natural waist.

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Using a pair of your pants that fit well, measure from crotch seam to bottom of leg.

Wrap a length of string around your finger and mark where the end touches. Measure the distance between the end of the string and the mark you've made to determine what size to order.
